São Paulo – TIC Quality Control, a certification and quality control company headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is expected to open an office in São Paulo within the next four months. The company is participating in the APAS Show trade fair in São Paulo, at a booth organized by the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC).
According to TIC Quality Control financial manager Bayar Khalifa, the company is participating in an event in Brazil for the first time to seek out clients and opportunities in the Brazilian market. Although the company has a broad focus—operating in sectors as diverse as oil, maritime, consumer goods, and food— APAS Show is where both large and small food and beverage producers can be found.
“We’re based in Dubai, with branch offices in China, India, Egypt, and Jordan, and we’re looking to expand into Brazil. We hope that in three or four months we can have our company established here and begin operations,” Khalifa told ANBA during the trade show. “This is our first time participating. We chose this exhibition because of the presence of numerous companies from various sectors and because Brazil is a huge market,” he said.
The goal, the executive said, is to win over 20% of the Brazilian companies that currently certify with competitors. Initially, TIC—which stands for Testing, Inspection, and Certification—plans to invest in the food sector, focusing primarily on meat and sugar. But that’s just the first step, the executive says.
In the oil and gas sector, for example, the company offers services such as production line control and monitoring. In consumer goods, its processes focus on ensuring the quality of what is sold to the end customer. In the food segment, the company analyzes production processes from raw material standards to the supervision of product shipment for distribution. On ships, inspections include tank cleaning, draft surveys, storage tank inspections, and sealing tests, among other services.
It is a private service hired by companies to maintain the standard and quality of their products and services. Initially, the executive says, the company will offer inspection, testing, and certification services to ensure quality control of the client’s products.
